First haircut

My cousin Jennifer came over today and gave Austin his first hair cut. Thank goodness as it was getting so long and shaggy!! The haircut went pretty good, just a little fussing, but Jennifer was prepared and brought a squirt bottle which kept him pretty entertained for the most part.

First trip to the zoo...

Nina and papa (my mom and dad) and my sister and her family came down to omaha this weekend for a little swimming and a trip to the zoo. It was the first time my parents and Austin had ever been. It was quite a long day, we walked the zoo for over 5 hours, but the kids all did pretty good and I guess we all got a good workout:):) We got to see all the animals, ride the skyfari, have a picnic at lunch and even enjoy a little ice cream on our way home. Austin was a little trooper, he only had one outburst about 1:00 when he was super tired from missing both of his naps. But he quickly fell asleep and took a little cat nap, but woke up just in time to enjoy some ice cream:):) Thanks Nina and Papa for taking us all to the zoo, it was a blast!!

Lake time.....

We finally got a chance to go back to North Platte last Sunday night to enjoy a little fun in the sun at the lake. I had Monday and Tuesday off so we headed back to good old North Platte and stayed out at my parents' cabin for a few nights. Austin loved the water. We were lucky to have a couple of super nice days to be outside and Austin spent some time in his little "pool for one" and sitting in the waves on the beach. He even got to ride Papa's jet ski for the first time with dad!! Cousins Jack and MacKenzie were back in North Platte visiting so they came out to the lake and played with us. We all had a great time and of course got a little too much sun, or a lot if you saw my nose!! Here are a few pics from the fun weekend.

Big people food....

It's hard to believe our little guy is already over 9 months old!!! He sure has started to grow up fast. He is pretty much eating straight big people food now. We've been trying to give him the last of the baby food we had in the cupboard, but he is pretty much fed up with it and only wants to eat what we are eating. It's been pretty fun watching him try all the new foods we've been giving him and get all excited that it tastes wayyyyy better than that nasty baby food. Plus, the 15-20 bucks a week it saves us at the grocery store is kinda nice too!!! Now, to move on to getting rid of the bottle, yikes my baby really is growing up!!! We haven't had too exciting of a summer around here so far with me studying so much for all my board exams. I found out yesterday that I passed all of my Nebraska exams, so as of last night I am finally an official pharmacist and today I already had my first scheduled shift!! It was a little scary, but luckily I wasn't by myself (I do have my first solo shift tomorrow already however, not sure how excited I am about that:):)) We are going back to North Platte this Sunday - Tuesday for a little mini vacation. Hopefully the weather is nice so we can do some laying around at the lake and Austin can do a little swimming, with his dad of course I am not getting in that nasty lake:):) No crawling here yet, but he did manage to get up on his knees twice today and stay there for a split second, which is a first for him. I will try and snap a few new photos of him tomorrow and post them since its been a while since I've put any up on here. Hope everyone has a good weekend!!!
