Happy Halloween!!!

Happy Halloween everyone!!! Hard to believe it is already November, man the months sure are flying by, this new baby will be here before we know it. Oh yeah that reminds me, in case you didn't know and are reading this, we're pregnant!!! I am due May 10th, so I am about 3 1/2 months along and feeling great. Was a little nauseous in the beginning, but nothing major and it has passed so am feeling good now. So anyways, back to Halloween.... We got all dressed up in our batman outfit and went trick or treating around the neighborhood with two sets of our neighbors and their kids. The kids all had fun going together, and the dads all enjoyed getting to drink together to pass the time:) Austin was chilled to the bone and all tuckered out after the long night, we did about 2 1/2 hours of straight trick or treating, which was a lot even for me!! Below are some pictures from the big night, we couldnt get him to keep his mask on for anything, as you'll be able to tell from the tears and fit throwing below:):)

Birthday party...1 year check up...

Sorry its been so long since I've posted, but now that Austin is one I will probably not post as often. The original reason I started this was to do it for a year and then publish it into a book, which I am in the process of, so he could have a book of all the little things of his first life. So, now that I have made my goal I will continue to post, but probably not as often, we just don't have the time around here!! He had his one year appointment last week and it went well. He had to get four shots, so that was tought for both mom and Austin!!! He was 25 lbs and 31 inches long, so he had only grown and inch and gained a pound since his 9 month appt. He was still in the 80-85th percentile for both, but starting to slow down from the 95th percentiles he was in before. His doctor was happy with his growth as she thought it should have slowed down a little at his 9 month appointment and definately had not. His head is still in the 95th percentile, hopefully he's got a lot of brains in there!! We also had his birthday party last weekend, and all the cousins, grandparents and aunts and uncles made it down to celebrate the big day. We rented the husker game and just hung out, opened presents, ate cake, and watched the game. Here are some pics from the big day, enjoy!!

Guess who's 1.....

I can't believe my little boy is already one year old!!! Time sure does fly. We are celebrating his birthday this upcoming Saturday so I will post some pics and details from the party. Right now he has a few more teeth coming through accompanied by diarrhea for the past 3 days which has led to the worst case of diaper rash I have ever seen. Every time he poops or pees he just starts screaming, crying and litterally gasping and wailing because it hurts so bad. Then when we go to change him it magnifies about 10 times. I feel so bad for him it looks super sore, blisters and all, but we got a prescription diaper cream today so hopefully that takes affect in the next day or two. We have been working really hard on: "How old is Austin??" and him holding up his 1 finger. At first I thought it was a lost cause but today he has done it almost every time, so hopefully come birthday party day he will do this for a cute pic in front of his cake, we will see:):) Not walking on his own yet, but definately cruising all over everyithing, the furniture, the walls, etc. He is talking up a storm these days, half the time you either cant understand him or I'm not sure he knows what he's saying. But he for sure knows what bath means because you say "wanna take a bath" and he makes a beeline for the tub; and he knows what eat means b/c you say "you wanna eat" and he takes off to his high chair. So maybe he understands more then I think:):) We have his one year check up tomorrow so I will post his new measurements.

Lincoln and the childrens museum..

Last weekend Matt had to do some training for school all weekend so me and Austin decided to head on down to Lincoln and hang out with my sister Michelle and her kids Brandon and Kaylee. The weather didnt quite cooperate as we had planned on swimming and it rained most of the day so instead we went to the childrens museum. Austin is still a little young to fully enjoy the museum, but as usual he loved watching all the kids run around and play. Kaylee and Brandon had a blast too and it was good to get to hang out with them for the day. These darn kids grow up wayy too fast!!

First steps....trip to North Platte, etc...

Austin is finally taking his first steps. He is now cruising all over the place with his walker. We spend all night after we all get home from work adn day care walking all over the place with our walker. He still hasnt figured out how to reverse or change directions when he gets stuck so that is what we are working on now. We went back to North Platte last Sunday-Tuesday to visit our family and spend a little time relaxing in the sun at the lake. Austin loved the water. He probably spent 3-4 hours a day in his little pool we made for him. Literally first thing in the morning he wanted right back in his pool!! I posted some pics below of the last few weeks of summer of him walking, at the lake, etc. Enjoy!

Mankato Trip and Baba's visit....

Last Thursday we took a trip up to Mankato to visit some friends and go to a wedding. It was a fun weekend and we got to see lots of friends we hadn't seen in a long time and that Austin got to meet for the first time. We spent most of the weekend with our friends Jay, Angie and their little girl Kate. Austin and Kate were born on the same day, so it was fun to see them play an interact with each other. And apparently she is a very good teacher, because since we came home from Mankato on Sunday Austin has learned how to crawl, walks 100% better now, cruises aroun furniture, and waves a ton more now (he must have seen how big of a hit Kate's pageant wave was:):):)) It was a short weekend trip, but it was nice to get to see everyone. Matt had to go from Minnesota to Kansas City for the World Series tournament the 11 year old baseball team he coaches was playing in and I had to work a lot of 2-10 shifts this week so Matt's mom (Baba) came down to watch Austin. It was a good week for her to come so she could see all his new tricks!! I know Austin really enjoyed getting to hang out with her all week, and I'm sure she didn't mind either:):)

Already a ladies man:):)

This is just hilarious!!!
