Big people food....

It's hard to believe our little guy is already over 9 months old!!! He sure has started to grow up fast. He is pretty much eating straight big people food now. We've been trying to give him the last of the baby food we had in the cupboard, but he is pretty much fed up with it and only wants to eat what we are eating. It's been pretty fun watching him try all the new foods we've been giving him and get all excited that it tastes wayyyyy better than that nasty baby food. Plus, the 15-20 bucks a week it saves us at the grocery store is kinda nice too!!! Now, to move on to getting rid of the bottle, yikes my baby really is growing up!!! We haven't had too exciting of a summer around here so far with me studying so much for all my board exams. I found out yesterday that I passed all of my Nebraska exams, so as of last night I am finally an official pharmacist and today I already had my first scheduled shift!! It was a little scary, but luckily I wasn't by myself (I do have my first solo shift tomorrow already however, not sure how excited I am about that:):)) We are going back to North Platte this Sunday - Tuesday for a little mini vacation. Hopefully the weather is nice so we can do some laying around at the lake and Austin can do a little swimming, with his dad of course I am not getting in that nasty lake:):) No crawling here yet, but he did manage to get up on his knees twice today and stay there for a split second, which is a first for him. I will try and snap a few new photos of him tomorrow and post them since its been a while since I've put any up on here. Hope everyone has a good weekend!!!

Steady, steady, steady, yeahhh, good job.

Sorry I have been such a bad blogger the last few weeks...I have been working a lot and studying a ton for boards so I haven't had much time to post on here. I took my boards test on Monday and am anxiously waiting my results of that test, and I take my Nebraska Law test on Friday so I am busy studying for that!! I pray that I pass them all the first time, as I definately am sick of studying and dont want to have to go through this all again!!!

Austin had his 9 month check up on Monday. He hasn't slowed down any....He was 30 inches long, 23 lbs 12 oz, so still between 90-95th percentile for both, and his head was still in the 90th percentil too. She was impressed with his continued growth, but I'm sure it will slow down once he figures out how to start moving. He still isn't crawling, he seems content to just roll wherever he wants to go. Personally, I think his gut is still too big to get off the ground. He may be one of those kids that never crawls and goes straight to walking, who knows. Nothing too new with him around here. Still only has the two bottom teeth, but his pediatrician seems to think that his four top teeth are about to come in, and all about the same time, yikes!!! Guess that will make for a few crabby nights:):) Atleast he was considerate enough to wait until after my boards were over:):) I had to cut his hair already. I had trimmed around his ears about a month ago, but I couldn't take his bangs being in his eyes any longer so I had to trim those as well. It's amzing how much more grown up he looks since I cut it. He continues to babble, and laughs nonstop, and he has starting making some very funny faces and laughing noises. He is developing quite a little personality of his own. Well, thats probably enough for now, just a little update on our lives. Better get back to studying, have a great rest of the week!!!

Graduation pics...

Here are a few pics from graduation. Notice I dont have any family pictures with me, Matt and Austin. The little guy wasn't exactly feeling up to taking pictures. I have a bunch of new pictures of him in our camera, but am out of batteries and need to get some before I can post new pics of him. I didnt get any pics from graduation either since my camera is inoperable at the moment and it was a crazy time with Austin being sick and all, but luckily my mom got a few so here they are.....

Graduation, the flu, new teeth...

Wow, where do I start. I guess I should start by apologizing for it being so long since I last posted. Things have been pretty crazy around here the last week. Last Wednesday I took Austin to the doctor because he just couldnt seem to kick what I thought was a cold, but he ended up with an antibiotic for sinus infection. Thursday we had his follow up appointment with the surgeon. He took the sterry strips off and his eye looks so good. There is just a little line where the incision was but other then that you can hardly tell he had anything done. After his appointment Thursday I went to drop him off at our sitters house so I could go study, only to find one of the little girls had just puked. So needless to say I decided not to leave Austin there and just skip the studying that day. After all with graduation the last thing we needed was to get the flu. Despite my efforts about 3 o'clock that afternoon Austin started puking. It was so sad to see him so miserable. He basically just layed there and cried for about 48 hours straight. I had mandatory school stuff pretty much all day Friday, so unfortunately Matt got most of the brunt of having to deal with a miserable sick kid, but he did great:):) Friday night I had my hooding ceremony, which Matt and Austin unfortunately did not get to attend, but a lot of my other family members were nice enough to come down for. Saturday Austin finally broke his fever and only got sick one time. Then the diarrhea started. And it kept coming, and coming, and coming. I am talking like 6 outfit changes on Sunday. Man, am I sick of doing laundry between the vomit and diarrhea I feel like that is all I did for 4 days!!! On top of the flu he had one tooth pop through on Saturday with another one really close to breaking through on the bottom, and possible two more on the top, poor thing!! So, as you can see we have had quite a busy week!! Things are starting to settle back down around here, no more vomiting or diarrhea, but he is still having some pain with his teeth, which is causing some middle of the night awakenings which I am not too fond of and hopefully end soon!!!
